Welcome from the Congress Chair
On behalf of CRC CARE and the Organising Committee, I invite you to join us for the 2nd Global CleanUp Congress on 20-21 September 2022 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
On behalf of CRC CARE, globalCARE Alliance and the Organising Committee, I invite you to join us for the 2nd Global CleanUp Congress – from Tuesday 20 to Wednesday 21 September 2022.
The Congress will provide an international forum to discuss all aspects of contaminated site assessment, management and remediation. The Organising Committee is preparing an outstanding scientific and educational program, which will combine cutting-edge research with industry best practice and draw on experience from Malaysian, Australian and international markets. The program will also feature pre-Congress training workshops and post-Congress tours.
With an expected attendance of around 500 delegates across all relevant fields and industries, the Congress presents an excellent opportunity to share expertise and make connections before, during and after the event. Global CleanUp Congress 2022 can help you to:
- increase awareness of your organisation
- demonstrate your involvement in the contamination assessment and remediation industry
- promote your products and services
- support your brand
- build your profile.
The Organising Committee is pleased to bring the Congress to Kuala Lumpur – the cultural, financial and economic centre of Malaysia – as the host city.
Kuala Lumpur means “muddy confluence” in Malay; kuala is the point where two rivers join together or an estuary, and lumpur means “mud”. One suggestion is that it was named after Sungai Lumpur (“muddy river”); it was recorded in the 1820s that Sungei Lumpoor was the most important tin-producing settlement up the Klang River. Doubts however have been raised on such a derivation as Kuala Lumpur lies at the confluence of Gombak River and Klang River, therefore should rightly be named Kuala Gombak as the point where one river joins a larger one or the sea is its kuala. It has been argued by some that Sungai Lumpur is in fact Gombak River (therefore the point where it joined the Klang River would be Kuala Lumpur), although Sungai Lumpur is said to be another river joining the Klang River a mile upstream from the Gombak confluence, or perhaps located to the north of the Batu Caves area.
Networking drinks and a poster session will follow the concluding session on 21 September. A full complement of lunches, receptions and other meals served during program breaks also provides ideal opportunities to network with delegates, sponsors and exhibitors. The highly anticipated Congress gala dinner on 20 September offers fantastic opportunities to socialise, network and enhance your business potential.
We are confident that Global CleanUp Congress 2022 will be a highly rewarding educational and networking experience for all. We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity and to contribute to the success of this special event.
We look forward to welcoming you at the 2nd Global CleanUp Congress in September 2022.
